Yesterday evening when I just finished a very, very long post on this blog, let's say a big update as it has been a while since I typed anything here, we heard a very loud "BAM!!!" and all went black. All power went out in the whole house...bye, bye blogpost. As it was already dark outside it was now pitchblack inside as well and Anthony who was watching tv in his bedroom came running down the stairs completely in pannic mode as he is so very much afraid of the dark(it took me an hour too make him calm again). DH thought Anthony had been doing something he shouldn't have been doing in his room, maybe poke into the electricity or such, but I could tell by looking at him and seeing his reaction that this was not the case. So here I was with two kids crying of fear hanging around me for dear life. DH went outside to see if it was just us or maybe the whole block that went down(it was just us) and then got a flashlight(thank god we had one closeby) and lifted an electricity powerswitch that went down and tadaaaaa there was light again. Maybe 10 minutes later I went upstairs to get my clothes out of the washing machine and the first things I saw where white pieces of plastic on the floor and I thought "Huh?!". Then I looked at the washingmachine and was like :"OMG!!!!!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAY, come upstairs right away!!!". This was what I was looking at(these pics were made this morning when I had some decent light):
Our washingmachine had completely exploded!!!!!!! WTF!!! As you can see our warmingsystem is right beside the washingmachine and all I could think was what if that had exploded as well. So thankfull we are OK and that the washingmachine is the only thing that is damaged and broken. and broken it is!
Never did I knew that anything like this could happen, did you!? The clothes were still whole so they didn't got stuck or something like that. I really have no idea what has caused the machine to explode the way it did. Thankfully I found the receipt and it was just 4 years old(not even) and we bought an extra 5 year warranty(YEAH!!!). Emailed the pics with an email this morning to the company but all I have heard so far is that they are working on it. I need a NEW washing machine ASAP!!!!

I've never heard of anything like this. Completely bizarre. Thank God you have the extended warranty. Hope you get a new machine very soon.

Wow! Never never never have I seen or heard of anything like this. Thankfully the damage was limited to the machine, and no one was hurt. Unbelievable!!

Ongeloveloos toch!

I have exactly the same machine....and thankfully it has not happened here, but it does make me less secure about it. Maybe better not having it washing when we are not home....
