Yes I am on it again. Dieting that is. Gained everything and even a bit more back from where I started last year, so depressing. But this time I hope it will be different, well I think it will be different because I am different. I have learned a lot about myself last year and this year I also will deal with all the emotion issues that I have just been eating away by visiting a physiologist. Just had my intake and lets just say I didn't know I could cry still over so many things that I thought I had handled.
Ok now onto the diet. A few people emailed me that I should check out the Dutch book: Grip op Koolhydraten by Yvonne Lemmers. It is all about low-carb(do not read no carb, because there is one hour a day you can eat your regular carbs if you want). I have noticed a long time ago that I can get VERY tired of bread and pasta. Like tired that I had to sleep and woke up 2,5 hours later still not feeling energized.
So I was intrueged. I ordered the books(she also has a cooking book, but so far I only made recipes from her normal book) and started right after.
I am now doing this for almost 2 weeks, lost 2,5 kilo already but even better I feel good. I do not have any cravings or hunger attacks and I hardly ever take something in between. Even in de morning I get up at around 6.30 and I eat around 8.50 right after I get back from taking jadenn to school. Normally I would have passed out from hunger, but nothing of this since I am doing this diet.
The best thing is and also the main reason on why Ithink this diet will work and will become a lifestyle is because I can still eat so many things that I love. Like creme fraiche, all kinds of cheeses(the fat ones), eggs(lots of them) and best of all Mayonnaise(of course not much but still a spoon to make myself my own garlic sauce or a dressing).
I made my own tortilla's(recipe is in the first book) which everyone in my household is liking even better than a regular tortilla! And the best thing happened this week. You have to know my kids do not like to eat vegetables, like not at all. So I made a quiche with LOTS of vegetables and even mushrooms(also something they never want to eat) and ofcourse the egg and cheese that go in it as well. I blindfolded them and said to take 2 bites and really taste it before looking at it. They LOVED it. Afterwards I let them guess what was in it, so fun. I did it again yesterday with another quiche and the same result :)
In all my other diets I was not allowed to eat these things and since I am a difficult eater and do not like all to many things I was always eating the same things which in the end was one of the problems for me to slip again. I can now buy low carb pasta on-line and still eat it with my creme fraiche sauce if I like, yeah!
I also learned that eating light products is so bad for you. I stopped drinking cola light completely for a while now and love my waterbottles :)
One of my favorite snack is putting a slice of cheese in the microwave for 3 minutes and it comes out hard and taste so good!! also a kids favorite!
I will keep you posted. If you want to keep track of me you should follow me on facebook because I am updating there daily with all kind of things. I also posted my first monthly video of myself in this weight-loss journey.

Good luck :) And what kind of cheese? Processed slices? Edam? Gouda? I don't think this would work with cheddar....?

i kNOW you can handle this new lifestyle. i don't call it a diet, because it isn;t. it's a way of life and you'll feel soo much better. you won't miss those high energy sugar levels!!
lots of love!
