I feel like I am on a rollercoaster

Sorry for not blogging for so long, but I hardly have any time to catch my breath. I keep hurting my own feet, which is a clear sign to me I need to slow down. But how do you slow down when you need to catch up? I am waaaaaaaaay behind with editing photo's for clients(Luckily I have awesome clients who totally understand, but still, I need to catch up). I so badly want to tell and show you what I did in England and on my short get-away with my family last week, but that has to wait till I am caught up, sorry.

We were away for 5 days and I wish I could say we had a blast and it was relaxing and fun, but than i would lie. I am glad we are home again and hopefully we can give it another try in the fall vacation.

Anthony is doing a bit better. 3 weeks with his cast so we are halfway there(I hope!). On monday they will look again and see if the can get the last 3 stitches out(which was painfull the first round. I told him they had to remove some plasters from the surgery to see his wound, because if I would have told him they were taking his stiches out he would have freaked out completely). When they were done he cried that next time they had to take his stitches out and it would hurt even more. So I told him that these were his stitches. He looked at me and said: I never trust you again!......it is tough being a mom sometimes.

His wound still looks like a mess and still isn't healed or closed(hopefully Monday it is) so they haven't put a complete cast around his leg yet. He has two pins in his growing bone(close to his anckle) and we do not know if his bone is going to grow anymore or that he would need a lot of surgery in the future, let's hope for it to grow the same as in his normal leg.

He got so many cards and little gifts from so many of you, it really brightens his day, thank you!

Off I go edit some pics before I go to my bed, so tired, I need sleep, lots of sleep, but sleep is not an option :(
Luckily I get some positive energy when I am doing a shoot. Today I had my first set of identical twins and they were perfect!!!

Back and forth

I feel like I am on a roller-coaster for days now.
Anthony was told on wednesday morning that he was able to go home. First everyone said it would be earliest friday before we could go home so it came very unexpected. I had no wheelchair and bed yet at home so tried to contact the organization who rents those, just to find out they could only send it the next day and that their store in the place where i live was closed for the day. So I told the nurse we couldn't go home since the supplies needed were not there yet. But they wanted him to go home anyway so they arranged to get the supplies delivered to my house the same day, i even spoke to a man of that organization and had to tell him all our information. So we went home after the doctor checked his wound(or so I thought!). when we got home there were no wheelchair and no bed. So I called back to the hospital were they told me they didn't know what I was talking about.....EXCUSE ME!!??(the nurse who was there was already home and this nurse couldn't find anything is his files).

The next day I spend all day on the phone with the organization who rents it and the hospital and the hospital kept saying we as parents were the ones who had to organize something ourselves and they never do something like this for their patients.......which is basically calling me a liar. I was sooooo pissed off. In the end the organization helped me get a wheelchair that day and I called to the complain department of the hospital.

so it was around four when Anthony asked me to take his temperature. Shit he got a fever. Called the doctor who came by because he wanted to see his wound. So he came to take the bandage off and told me he couldn't tell by what he saw because the wound was still covered, which means the doctor who said it looked OK in the hospital never even saw his wound at all. He was discharged without them having looking at the wound!!!

So we went back to the ER again. Anthony went crazy while being there and with crazy I mean crazy, CRAZY! We were so lucky the same nurse was there who helped him Saturday. She knew he is Autistic and she talked with another nurse there and they gave him some drugs to get him calm(it was for a grown-up and still it didn't knocked him out). He was so scared and completely panicked and cursed at me and my dad who came with me and at the nurses. It was so sad to see. They gave him more drugs and told him they needed some blood....another panic attack, they needed to take of his casket to see his wound, another panic attack. The nurses were angels with him and helped him to get over his extreme fears and showed him that his fears were bigger than the actual pain. So the casket came of and I thought his wound was small, but now I saw the wound and it was BIG!! from the inside of his ankle to the outside was just one wound/scar with stitches. It looked like his foot was sown to his leg again, not a pretty side. His wound was infected and his blood result showed the infection as well. We had to stay and they expected he needed surgery the next morning to clean his wound again.

I was so mad realizing that he was send home without having been looked at his wound, maybe if they actually did look they could have seen that it started to get infected and have treated it right away. another complained will be send in!

So now we are here again and today it is already Sunday(I typed the above on Thursday or Friday I believe). His wound still looks good and we can go home tomorrow if it stays like this. Hallelujah because my back is killing me so much(the bed I get to sleep on you can hardly call it a bed).

Anthony likes to thank everyone who send him a card or a little package, his face lighted up every time they came with cards for him :). If you still want to send him a card or such please email me for my home address since we are going home tomorrow.

I took my laptop with me to the hospital to do some work but somehow I have done very little, I simple can't seem to concentrate much, hopefully I can catch up with editing and shoots next week while my mom and dad are there to take care of Anthony.
