The life of a Dutch Scrapper

How did it happen?

First of all thank you all so much for all your sweet and uplifting words. Some of you asked me how it happened, so let me first explain that. Anthony was playing on the sidewalk with two friends and they were throwing water balloons to each other. Anthony sat on the curb between two parked cars when his friend wanted to trow a big water balloon at him. So he jumped up and ran away and this is when the car came in that hit him. the rest of the story see previous post.

last night was horrible, Anthony was in a lot of pain and at 3 in the morning the doctor came to see what it was. he wasn't sure. It could be just wound pain or loge syndrome, he gave him some morphine and said they would be checking things in the morning. Of course I googled loge syndrome and I got so scared reading it, if it isn't diagnosed early it could mean he could lose his leg in the end. I think I slept for max. 2 hours last night. I was so sad and afraid for my son. Luckily in the morning after new medication he felt fine. The doctor came and his toes looked better than a couple of hours before and his pain was gone. They did decided he would get a morphine pump that he could use when the pain was too much, but so far he hasn;t used it. Hopefully this means we will have a good night tonight. They didn't look at his wound yet, thought it would be too early for that since he is now doing a lot better with pain and such. probably in a few days. We will be here for at least after the weekend I am afraid.

Got my internet connection also today so I thought I could watch a movie(sex in the city 2) tonight while anthony is asleep, because he sleeps through anything with sound, but we got a new kid on the room so the nurse said at 7, lights out, sleeping time!.....EXCUSE ME?!!  I have no headphone so I am now sitting at the table in the dark typing this while it is 9.15, ugh.

I also was asked by a couple of people what the address of the hospital and his roomnr etc was so they could send him a card or such, so here you go:

A mothers nightmare

Yesterday, while finishing my first piece of meat from the barbecue, the doorbell ran, a lot of times. I assumed it was one of the kids and opened the door irritated because they were ringing it so often. But the neighbor from across the street stood in front of me and said Anthony was hit by a car. I shouted to DH that he had to come and that Anthony was hit by a car and off I went. Surprisingly I was very calm I didn;t even run(I think I also was afraid of what I would see as she only told me not to get in shock. I some distant I saw him on the ground and I saw his leg, his bone was sticking out badly and his foot was kinda loose the other way. I told my self do not look and I walked to him, around him and took the place of the man that was holding his head. DH came, saw his leg and turned around towards out house. He can't stand these kind of things and almost past out. The ambulance came pretty quick and off we went with the sirens on. On the First Aid he was in a lot of pain and was shooting he wanted something to be out so he didn;t feel anything, but of course it didn;t work like that. I had to stay calm, told them he was Autistic which helped in the way the approached him. They took photos and the doctor came in to see his wound. He decided it needed surgery right away. While he explained things to me he accidentally showed me the wound....ugh!!! you could see all through.

After he was in surgery I kinda fell apart. DH came soon after and we waited till he was out of surgery which took 1,5 hour. He had a rough night with a lot of pucking, but is doing better today. He has a casket till above his knee and tomorrow we will know more when they examen the wound and see what is the next step to take.

So I am spending my nights and days by his side for I think at least a week :(

Sugar overload!

Back from London and boy oh boy how good it has been, unbelievable! I will do another post about London soon, too much to say, to much to show. Extremely busy the next two weeks with too many shoots, editing and what more. BUT after that we will go away for a few days with the kids, so I can relax a bit myself.

My friend Florence said we should go to Harrods food section before we went home and why did I listen to her? This is what I took home with me, and almost half of it is gone, gone, gone.......soooooooooo good!(not only me, DH and kids loved it as well)


 

Oh and the two big red velvet cupcakes were gone before I could make photos of it :)

Happy Fathersday!!!

Woke up around 3, like I have been doing for the last few days. My head is working overtime with all the things I still need to do, organize, etc. You see I am headed for London tomorrow and with the sitter for the kids who went through her back a few days ago(seriously, like hospital next week and surgery) I kinda stressed out and had to make a back-up plan ASAP! But so far so good and we shall see it when it doesn't work out.  Right now I am editing photos in the dark.

So London, yeah! Going with my friend Florence to do a workshop from the uberfantastic Audrey Woulard. Loved her work for years now and I hope to learn something while I am there. Never been to London, so we probably hop on a tourbus to see some highlights, well after we did some shopping at Anthropology of course :)

So today it is Fathersday and my dad is in Italy for another 7 days so he had to do with a phonecall from me and a card from the boys that I send ahead :)
DH will be spoiled with soccer items, collectables, which will make him very happy I am sure off. Also some nice breakfast(not in bed, hate the crums!) and he will be taking th eboys to the swimmingpool today so i can get some work done before I leave in the eveing to go to Florence house. Raymond is an awesome dad so he deserves to be spoiled today :) Happy fathersday sweetie!!!

When my DH says it is really time,

Not sure what it is, but

I am a bit sentimental right now and am thinking about my friends here and all over the world, feeling nothing but love for them and missing them....a lot :(

Life is crazy right now! business was already good but now it is unreal, I am fully booked till July, only one or two spots left. It is a 40 hour job right now, with multiple shoots during the week and the other days lots of editing and such, but I am not complaining, I LOVE it, and feel very blessed that it is working out this way.

I have a little break coming up in little over a week....more on that when I return :), but it will be so much fun, of that I am certain!

Anthony is doing great says his teacher, better than ever before she says. Anthony says something different. He still has a problem with school in general, dealing with other kids just like him, I feel for him. He thinks that going to a different school will help, but he doesn't see that his PDD-NOS is causing this. I went with him to the dentist that is specialized in braces to see when he could get his. Apparently our own dentist should have send him years ago because now this dentist can't help him no more and he has to go to the hospital where they are specialized for what he might need(surgery!!!??). Really I do not know any other child who have so much bad luck than he has, my heart is aching for him.
