The life of a Dutch Scrapper

Doei doei!

Which means bye bye in Dutch. I am leaving in 20 minutes from now, off to Italy :)
And I am very happy to say I made all my deadlines!!!! couldn't have done it without the help of Revlie and Daan, thanks girls!

Had a long post planned but Typepad trew me out a couple of times yesterday. So I keep it short, BYE!!! See you in 2 weeks!

Ok I am going crazy here

like seriously crazy. I still have so much to do before we leave on Saturday and just not enough time to finish it all. I guess I can't sleep from now of on. Friday evening Revlie was already helping me out and Danielle is coming Wednesday evening and still, still I am almost hyperventilating here. Can you say 6 mini-albums, two tags and two articles....before Saturday. Because besides this I spend the whole day today making goodbye presents for Anthony's school, doing the last minute shopping, finishing a lo for an article and entertaining Jadenn in between. Tomorrow is nothing different, will spend half of the day in the hospital with Anthony and than go to get his hair cut, day over. Oh I can go on and on for the whole packed week, but I won't bore you with it,this rant is over for now :)

I have always claimed to be good under pressure well now is certainly the time to prove that.

A few weeks back Beverly from BananaFrog asked me to be their Guest Designer and I said yes, not knowing Italy would be appearing all of the sudden. So she has been very patient with me this whole time. Go check it out on their blog. Seriously their stamps are AMAZING to work with!!!

My sister stopped by last Friday and I took some pictures of her. She is showing already a lovely bump with 15 weeks.



The next day she called and we heard that my BIL best friend(Joost) has died suddenly and I want to ask you to keep my sister, my BIL and the wife of Joost(who is 20 weeks pregnant) in your prayers. Dead is always so hard when someone was still full of live.

Ok time is up, better get back to bussiness :(

I hate taxes!

Just got an email from my accountant, apparently the person that I talked to, who is the owner of this accountancy firm has made a mistake and forgot to tell me a few things, no he did told me a few things but they are now telling me he told me wrong and that I need to pay.....lots.....seriously I am soooooo angry right now you have no idea. I am going to look out for another accountant for sure!

Ok enough of that............sigh.
Last year I was asked to be a part of a French book called: Customisez vos créations en tissu from Emmanuelle and Séverine and I had to alter an cotton bag they send me. I painted this owl on it and used some thickers and made it totally water resistible by adding 2 layers of UTEE over it. I gave it away to my friend Lucy, but I like to do one for myself one day, it was fun to make:


The Dutch Scrap! magazine is out again and it looks great I think! I have a few articles in there, here are some of my projects:

 


This one was published in the OOh Baby ideabook by Memory Makers Books. Forgot all about it untill it landed on my doorstep. such a nice surprise.

I need more space

to put all my scrapbook stuff!!! I just spend the afternoon in my scraproom organizing it again, cleaning out the boxes I brought with me to Italy, new products that arrived etc, etc. Where do I keep all this stuff!? I can say that I do not buy a whole lot, only when I am in a scrapbookstore(which happens only when I am there for a workshop) I can buy a few things, but not that much. It feels like I keep cleaning and sorting things out over and over again and I just gave away a HUGE box with supplies, when does this stop! I want to scrap, not clean and sort things out all the time :)
One day I will manage to have it all in order, this is a promise to myself.

Happy Fathersday!!! Dh could sleep in before the kids and I woke him with big kisses and a few presents. The kids made such lovely things for him, he was very happy with them. Later we went to see my dad who wasn't feeling to well, he even called the doctor, which is nothing for him to do. Hopefully he will feel better soon, please keep him in your thoughts.

Only 2 more weeks and we are in Italy again, now with the whole family, can't wait. Till than I have to lock myself in my scraproom to finish soooooooooooo many things before we go, I hope I can make it all in time, I have to!

Yesterday I went to a workshop from Donna Downey at Simpel Scrappen(which is a GREAT store) Monique and I went together and met up with Florence, Eef and Nili. Donna let us made such an amazing album, I love it and will finish it soon! She was so cool as well. Relaxed, funny and open, a lovely personality.

In the evening we went out to diner at a restaurant near the beach with my family and hers which was fun!
We had some lovely diner and had them also taste the Dutch Bitterballen, which they loved :)
Afterward we went to get some Italian Gelato, yum! I took a few family shots of them and here are just 2 of them, might share more later :)

Getting my life back on track by making lists and so far so good :)

I have forgot to tell you some amazing news about Anthony. Anthony is playing soccer for a year now. So when I was in Italy my DH called me with such good news. Anthony was picked to play in the selection next season! That was such a surprise for us and for him. We are going to give it a try and we will see how it goes, no pressure and if things do not work out he can always go back to his old team.
More good news about Anthony. He finally is accepted to go the school in Alkmaar, where he lives. He has been on the waiting list for one year now so it is about time. The classes are smaller(9 children max) and he will be home earlier. He can stay in that school till he is 18 so that is great!

Ok have to pick up Jadenn, will share more projects and lo's soooooon! tomorrow I will be taking a workshop with Donna D!!! Can't wait to see her!

Help me I am drowning!

Since I got back from Italy I can't seem to get back in my old routine, no matter how hard I try. I am constantly tired and I can't get myself to do something, anything! I made some decisions before I left to Italy about how I want to spend my time and I will share more about that in July.

I went to see the Medium Derek Ogilvie last Saturday with my sister, Monique and Danielle. I love that man, seriously he is so genuine and funny. And a very, very good medium. The show it self was not spectacular, but that was not Dereks fault, but the audience that or didn't understood English at all, or were to quickly to put up their hands, which lead to long readings that or weren't for them or were difficult because they didn't understood one thing he said. I felt sorry for him cause I know how hard it is to keep the energy high and the contact with the spirit when people aren't responding right away. Also 1009 people was WAY too much since only around 10-12 people got a reading. It was bloody hot in there as well. But all the messages were so to the point so direct that he truly is one of the best for me out there. After the show he did a book signing and we could take a picture with him. 1000 other people wanted the same so we stood there till 1 in the morning(but had a good time) to get a picture with him(I forgot my camera, but luckily Monique had hers with her) and a autograph and I had my flip with me :)
I told you already he was funny right :)
