I have no idea if you ever heard of the law of attraction? It became famous when the book The Secret came out. I have had many experiences in the past that convinced me that this law of attraction indeed exist.
Yesterday and today it became very clear to me that it was working again for me. actually it got kind of "scary" in the end.
Ok let me tell you that I have been looking for certain things on the internet for the past year, things I would like to have for my home or for photography props, or just saw once and thought, hmmm I like to have those!
So yesterday it was the evening before Queensday here in the Netherlands and although Queensday is THE day everyone start celebrating it big time the night before. At 6 people can sell there junk, etc on the streets. I normally go around 6 so it isn't too busy yet and if i am lucky find some cool things before they are gone.
We went at 8.30 because DH had to work late, so it was already quite busy in the streets. My first goal was to find the man were I was buying vintage suitcases from since two years ago. I found him and he gave, GAVE me two brown vintage suitcases for FREE!!! and a vintage camera, also for FREE!! I really wanted a red vintage suitcase and within 5 minutes I saw one for just 2 euro!
So this is my stack as of right now :). I think i will keep it with these.
So after getting these items in less then 10 minutes we had to walk back to the car to drop these off hehe :)
Next was this gem:
An old vintage baby scale with net!(its weight was 10 kilo , poor DH who had to carry it the whole time)
So these were my finds on the evening before Queensday, I was really happy and couldn't dreamed that I would find anything else the next day. Remember I just wanted a vintage suitcase and nothing else, so I was completely open for whatever may come my way.
So at Queensday we were at the city around 8.30 in the morning this time and it was a lot less crowded, which was nice.
Within 7 minutes I spotted this:
A vintage doll bed, perfect for newborn shoots after I am done with it :)
Another 5 minutes later:
A vintage tipi for just 3 euro!!! Big plans with this one.
One minute later:
for 2 euro a vintage camcorder
So then 10 minutes later I spotted under a pile of clothes and such this table:
First I walked by it but did show it to dh and said that I really loved it and actually wanted it. He said that if it still would be there when we returned he would buy it. But then we walked by and nearby Anthony had to pee. I walked back and asked them what they wanted to have for the table. 25 euro. THAT is cheap for table. I called DH again and said I wanted to buy it right away or else it would be gone really soon. He paid and we could leave it there till we would get back. When we got to take it, she told me at least 15 people wanted to buy the table after me and were very disappointed to find out it was already sold. So DH and his friend Nico walked it back to the car and on the way to the car a woman offered him 50 euro for the table! DH said he wouldn't mind but that I would kill him if he did....he was so right!
So then we went home and the kids and DH went to the soccer field were they had a lot of things to do for the kids. I went to Sint-Pancras to see if I could find something there as well.
And oh wonder I did:
My sweet friend Daan borrowed bottles like this to me for my birthday party and after using them I knew I wanted some of my own. And while buying 2 stones for Jadenn these were on the same table and this is actually the point that I started to think that is is so weird that I have found all these things that I all wanted or looked at before.
5 minutes later I spot this vintage crate:
It was used to display things on, so I knew it was not for sale, but I asked anyway. She looked at me strangely and said that is was not her plan to sell it but would like to know what I would offer for it. I said:"4" euro. She said:"sold" :)
It is a beer brand which of course I will have to photoshop once I wake a photo of it with a newborn on or in it :)
OK then I saw these and thought that price can't be right:
5 vintage cameras for 50 cent each, OMG!!!!
Completely happy I went to see DH and the kids. There was also a little flee market going on so I looked there as well and HELLO! found this:
A big box with SO MANY postcards, with art on it, black and white photos, vintage images, etc. And also a big map with the same things(not shown on the photo). I am so going to sit on the couch in a minute to slowly pick my favorites, already found many>
Also found 3 reading books.
So these were my finds. I am still blown away with the amazingness that these all came my way without looking for them this day.
I wish I bought a Queensday lottery ticket hahaha!
This was what I was wearing this day:
It is common that you wear orange things on Queensday and I came across this Hello Kitty Queensday t-shirt and I loved it! only 7 euro at Kruidvat :)
Ok have to go scoop through my postcards :)
