As promised here is part one of my update.
So much has been going on, so little time to tell it all. Ok let's start with a few weeks ago. I got this email from one of my blogreader, Angelina, that moved me to tears. She had been reading about Anthony and his strugles and she wanted to do something for him. She happens to works as a production manager at MTV Networks, which also does shows like Nickelodeon and such. She invited Anthony and a friend to come to the liveshow called SuperNick. I was floored that someone who has never met me or Anthony for that matter wanted to do something so kind.
Last Saturday we went and the whole day was just amazing. Anthony took his friend Serkan with him and because it was Carnaval here in the Netherlands they decided to go as two mafia gangsters. Jadenn went with us as well and he and I were looking backstage the whole time while Anthony and Serkan were on stage. Jadenn had the time of his life while he could meet the director and play with all the buttons of the screens and the light. He got to sit in the chair of the chief of Spongebob, how cool is that ?! And meet with Terence and Patrick in their dressingroom. Not only the kids loved every minute of it, so did I. Although it was in the beginning scary and difficult for Anthony, after a couple of hours he was addapted to the new situation and he could relax a bit more. Angelina thank you again for the awesome experience and for your kind heart.
here are just some of the couple of 100 photo's that I took during the day:
All the kids gathered together before the show started to listen to instructions.
The set was so much smaller than I ever thought it would be, it even looks bigger on this photo than it is.
There was one section in the show where Anthony and his friend Serkan could participate in as well as you can see. I haven't seen it yet but he has been on tv a lot during this show.
Jadenn in the dressingroom with the presenters of the show, Terence and Patrick.
Jadenn in the editingroom where all the action was taking place. He loved it!
Jadenn in the chair of the chief of Spongebob.........who he thought to be mr Crabs hahahha!
There is always a family race at the show where the mom has to get down the slide into the slime bath.....this is that bath.
Made t-shirts with their names on it.
Anthony and Serkan also got the grand tour and got to held a real 2009 TMF award!
Kids with Patrick, who was is so funny.
Anthony with Terence who he thought was so pretty.
Me and the woman who made it all happen, Angelina. LOVE YOU!
Ok Scrap-A-Licious weekend. Got some problems with customs last week, luckily it has been over now for one part, now keeping fingers crossed for my boxes of American Crafts that are now there as well. Seeing all the stuff that we are going to use in the workshops makes me trilled with excitement. The kits are going to rock and that is a fact! here are a few sneak peeks:
Thickers as far as the eyes can see :)
Oh and there is just soooooooooooooo much more :)
Made two lo's last Friday evening when Liesbeth and Daan were over at my house to Scrap. I also am working on an altered book for a while now and I think I am in love with it, but it is still not finished so I will wait to show you photo's until it is done.
I am completly inspired by Kelly Rae at this moment and if you haven't already bought her book "Taking Flight ", you should, LOVE it! It inspires me so much that I want to pick up painting again. I used to paint a LOT before I became a scrapbooker and I still have some empty canvases lying around my attic. I also want to experiment more with mixed media, something I am longing to do for a while now. I took Dina Wakley's online class Art-journaling 101 a while ago(of course never did anything with it...sigh) and just signed up for the second course Art journaling 102. We got the first prompt yesterday and WOW! seriously Dina rocks my world and I just can't wait to see her teach on the Scrap-a-Licious event.
I have a new favorite item. Magic Mesh. I have played with it before but now had to do an article with it and I fell in love with this product all over again. Fun bright colors and different sizes and all.
Also bought the new paints from Claudine Helmuth after hearing so many good reviews about it. Already have a lot of paint but I want to try this out as well :). I get back to you about it after I tried it.
Ok so far part one.
